Shibori for good!

Updated: Feb 22, 2021

A few weeks ago my friend Jennifer Golde and I hosted a fantastic indigo shibori workshop to benefit the education department at Temple Kol Tikvah. We had such a great time snacking and learning all about the history of shibori, how indigo is produced and used, and the varying array of folding techniques. Then we got down to business! Each participant brought their own fabric or white garments to dye and manipulated each piece into a fantastic folded creation!

Then we started the most exciting and satisfying part- dyeing the folded pieces and watching them slowly oxidize and change colors!

After we rinsed out our pieces we got to hang them up for one final oxidation and view our incredible creations!

Here are some pictures of the beautiful final results!
